Behind it, subtle notes of freshly mown summer meadow, a hint of lime zest, and the cool minerality of wet Keuper stone unfold. On the palate, the »VIRGINA« presents itself crystal clear, precise, and full of tension. The vibrant sweet-acid interplay imparts impressive freshness to the wine, while the long aging on the full lees provides a fine texture and harmonious depth. Crisp dry, mineral, and with tremendous drive, the Sauvignon Blanc concludes in a long, salty finish that impressively reflects its origin.
Eleganz beginnt im Weinberg. Die »VIRGINA« entstand aus den ersten Sauvignon-Blanc-Reben unseres Grafenbergs – ein Weinberg, der von Beginn an durch außergewöhnlich geringe Erträge und eine beeindruckende Aromenkonzentration überzeugte. Bis heute prägen diese besonderen Voraussetzungen den unverwechselbaren Charakter dieses Weins. Der konsequent reduktive Ausbau bewahrt die kristallklare Frucht, während die lange Maischestandzeit und das Vollhefelager für zusätzliche Tiefe und Finesse sorgen. So entsteht ein Sauvignon Blanc, der nicht von lauter Exotik lebt, sondern von Präzision, Mineralität und Eleganz – inspiriert von den großen Vorbildern des Loire-Tals und zugleich unverkennbar geprägt vom kalkhaltigen Keuperboden. Ein besonderes Detail trägt jede Flasche bereits auf dem Etikett: Das ausdrucksstarke Kunstwerk wurde exklusiv von einem befreundeten Künstler für die »VIRGINA« geschaffen – so einzigartig wie der Wein selbst.
